Can’t Sell Your Car?

I had the same problem. Put the car up online plenty of nice pictures taken from different angles, car looked good, and priced similar compared to other ones like mine, but still not sold.

I looked online at a few forums and nearly everyone is having the same problem. Apart from one or two who had a result the vast majority are experiencing problems moving their car on.

I did read in one forum that someone went to a dealer and they offered two grand under the screen price and the dealer couldn’t wait to sign them up! Then i read in a newspaper that a dealer was doing a ‘buy one, get one free’ deal! You would never hear of that a few years ago so things are getting a bit tight and desperate out there.

Now we all know the difficult financial times we are in at the moment and this is hitting everyone a bit harder than normal so people are not spending right? Well, part of that is true; people are still spending but thinking a bit longer and harder about their decision before committing themselves.

I know a few short years ago i would just put the car up for sale and it was gone! Didn’t even try that hard but it’s a lot different in today’s market.

Another i noticed was the way every car seller advertises that i don’t think is good. It all looks the same nothing really jumps out from the page to grab your attention. Go to any site and check the pages and pages of cars and they are basically all the same.

This leads to a problem that contributes to why your and my car doesn’t always get sold as quickly as we would like, and guess what? It’s got nothing to do with what we are normally told about how to sell your car...

Most Car Adverts Are Terrible!

A huge amount of car adverts don’t do nothing to help the car being sold but yet we pay good money to advertise in these places. Why do you see all the time websites they say something like, ‘just pay once then advertise your car here till sold!’ Don’t exactly inspire you to whip out your card does it?

When these companies tell you that their website is advertised here there and everywhere then check out those claims before your spend anything. It’s so easy to do. Go to www.alexa.com and put their website address in and see exactly what stats it throws up!

If it says, ‘not in the first 100,000’ then you know to keep your card in your pocket and your cash in the bank!! Because your car will sit there like all the others have looking pretty but guess what? Still not sold! That’s why they offer you the ‘pay once till sold’ deal!

Are you wasting money on advertising that doesn’t work?

Most of us do and the reason is because the advertising people sell advert space based on the fact? that a certain numbers of people view their website or read their publication every week. So you and me place an advert because a large number of people gather there in one place.

But how many of those readers are actually interested in the make and model of your car? Don’t know? Mmm...

If you or i don’t know whether the advert we are paying for is reaching the people who are interested in buying your car then it’s not really surprising that your car is not sold is it?

The main reason that your car is not sold it’s because the way you advertise is wrong! If say for example, the place where you put your car advert claims to have 100,000 visitors a week but out of that number say 5,000 are interested in your car.

But then only 1,000 want the same colour as your car and on top of that they want alloy wheels but yours doesn’t have any. Now the numbers down to about 500 people looking for a certain car among a load of adverts that all look the same!

So you don’t get the response to the advert you was looking for and we think, i know, i’ll put the price down! When it’s nothing to do with the price it’s where and how your advertising – that’s the biggest hurdle to overcome.
